Surrogate Mothers!

Surrogate mothers from other countries. Obviously, there are a myriad of questions when considering surrogacy under any circumstances. The question of International Surrogacy is no exception.

Putting moral issues aside, low income parents in the U.S. might consider investigating international surrogacy as an option if money is a consideration.

The cost can be less than one third the cost of commissioning a surrogate in the U.S. or the U.K.

Generally, surrogacy is frowned upon in other countries. In India, for example, women and/or couples willing to act as surrogates, move out of their villages so that they will not be social outcasts. Families and friends object to the practice even though it can provide a poverty stricken family the opportunity to buy a home and properly educate their children.

Couples fly to India and interview potential women who are healthy and well adjusted. Unlike the U.S.--where agencies do the screening--in India clinics screen and select appropriate candidates.

Childless couples from the U.K. and the U.S. are making the arduous trip to India for the same reasons people visit India for other medical procedures. The doctors are excellent. The care is reasonably priced. And, the legal complications are virtually non-existent.

Apparently, the legal contracts are very good and India's Surrogates have had virtually no problems in turning the babies over to their legal parents.

It is difficult to ascertain exactly what the cost would be to negotiate a surrogacy in India, for example. However, surrogates are paid between $2,500 and $6,500 on average. Medical and Legal costs are a fraction of those in the U.S.

For those couples with financial considerations, it is worth investigating International surrogate mother
