Causes of Infertility

The major causes of infertility, diagnoses and treatments are discussed throughout our Website:

Ovarian Problems in women. Hormone imbalance and/or polycystic ovarian disease are common causes. For a variety of reasons, some women don’t ovulate or ovulate irregularly.

Cervical issues. In some women either the cervical fluid is unfriendly to sperm preventing them from reaching their destination; or, the female’s body doesn’t recognize the sperm as friendly and her immune system tries to destroy them.

Endometriosis. Inflammation or adhesions in the pelvic cavity can interrupt fertility. A woman often doesn’t have symptoms and is unaware the problem exists until she is unable to concieve.

Male Infertility or Male Factor Infertility. Infertile couples find it hard to believe sometimes that it could be that the male is unable to produce enough strong sperm to reach and fertilize an egg.

These are just some of the causes of infertility. There are others. Structural abnormalities, genetic influences and then there are unknown causes. Causes of Infertility.
