If you are having difficulty attaining pregnancy, before getting pregnant, try all of the non-clinical techniques from positions, to diet to rythm to herbs. Get together with your partner and don't be embarrassed to discuss all of your options.

Now let's talk about pre-pregnancy preparation.

Visit your primary care physician and ask for a referral to an Ob/Gyn doctor in your area. Or ask your friends for a recommendation.

Keep in mind that both men and women need to be tested.

Male infertility is treatable in most cases. Speak with your doctor about your partner and get a referral for a urologist.

Fill out your doctor's health questionairre carefully reporting all medical conditions that apply to you or your family. There are some medical conditions that might have an effect on your pregnancy.

Preparing your body for pregnancy means getting healthy. Eat a nutritious diet high in fresh fruits and lots of green leafy vegetables. Lean protein should be chosen over fatty processed proteins like deli meats and bacon.

Stop smoking, stop drinking alcohol, stop recreational drugs and get your exercise. Remember you are trying to do everything you can to conceive and carry a healthy fetus and deliver a healthy baby. Thinking about the baby will make it easier to change bad habits.

If you suspect the presence of a sexually transmitted disease, mention it to your doctor.

Taking your pre-natal vitamins before getting pregnant is a good idea. Don't forget about folic acid. Eat more spinach, beans, and orange juice, which are rich in vitamins including folic acid.

Discontinue taking birth control pills. It can take up to six months to get pregnant after stopping your bc pills. Be patient.

You and your future baby need sleep. 7 - 8 hours a night is recommended. Find ways to eliminate stress from your life.
